Remember the time…?
Since 1887, The Daily Collegian has recorded the highs and lows of Penn State’s colorful and often tumultuous history. More than 90 former Collegian writers, editors and business managers from eight decades pooled their talents and put this fascinating saga under one cover. The Collegian Chronicles brings you everything from panty raids to the grim years of the Great Depression to the triumphs of the JoePa era.
A compilation of 101 chapters and more than 350 pages, The Collegian Chronicles serves as a contemporary account of the life and times of Penn State as told by Collegian’s student reporters and editors. Editor Marv Krasnansky (’52) and Project Manager Pete Waldron (’84) spent more than two years coordinating this massive project to collect Penn State history as seen through the pages of The Daily Collegian.
The Collegian Chronicles makes a great unique gift or just treat yourself to a trip down Memory Lane!
Read what others have said about The Collegian Chronicles:
“Since 1887 the student writers of The Daily Collegian have been compiling the first draft of Penn State history. Now that saga – written over the course of more than 120 years on newsprint, some of it yellowed with time – has been collected in a new book. It is a recollection of Penn State and I commend it to you highly.”
Graham Spanier, President, The Pennsylvania State University
“A great publication and I am very honored to be mentioned in such a prominent way.”
Joe Paterno, Coach, Penn State Nittany Lions Football Team
“The Collegian Chronicles is a triumph and a treasure. This is a history book that is fresh, colorful and personal.”
Douglas Anderson, Dean, Penn State College of Communications
